Coat Color Changes
Do Maltipoos Change Color?
Maltipoos can change coat color throughout their life. They are often born one color and have a completely different coat color as an adult. This may happen to their whole coat or just certain sections.
Coat color changes usually occur to Maltipoos that have darker colored coats. For example, red coats may fade to apricot. Maltipoos that have white coats never really change color. They will have a solid white coat for life.
Most Maltipoos will have finished changing coat colors by the time they are two. At two years of age, they will be their final adult coat color. Maltipoos can also change colors with the season. For example, their coats often lighten in summer and darken in winter.

White Maltipoo Shedding
Do White Maltipoos Shed?
White Maltipoos do not shed much at all. They only drop a few strands of hairs here and there throughout the year. That is why they are classified as non to low shedders. Cross-back generations of Maltipoo sometimes shed even less than first or second generation Maltipoos. For example, F1b White Maltipoos or F1bb White Maltipoos.
Are White Maltipoos Hypoallergenic?
White Maltipoos are hypoallergenic as they are a low shedding breed and therefore do not release much allergy inducing dander into their surroundings. Both the Maltese and the Poodle are hypoallergenic so most Maltipoo puppies are also very hypoallergenic.
You can make your dog even more hypoallergenic by keeping up a good grooming routine as it will stop them from releasing allergens into your home.
Your dog’s grooming routine should include both brushing and bathing. A brush down with a slicker brush every other day is ideal to remove any loose hairs. As for washing, a bath with a gentle dog shampoo every 3 months will remove dead skin cells, dirt and debris.
This may not seem that often but you don’t want to over wash your dog otherwise their coat will dry out which will only cause flaky skin which is an allergy irritant.
