Cockapoo Generations Guide (F1, F1b, F1bb, F2, F2b, F2bb etc.)

The Cockapoo (AKA Spoodle, Cockerpoo or Cockerdoodle) is a mixed breed dog, the resulting of breeding a Cocker Spaniel with a Poodle. As a cross breed, there are many different ways that breeders can mix the two breeds to alter the genetic make up of the Cockapoo. The most common Cockapoo generations are F1, F1b, F1bb, F2, F2b and F2bb where each generation has a different percentage mix of Cocker Spaniel to Poodle.

These somewhat cryptic letters that denote Cockapoo generations can become quite confusing so that is why in this article we will break down what each one means so you can decide which Cockapoo generation is most suited to you!
