Are Mini Irish Doodles Hypoallergenic?

Mini Irish Doodles are hypoallergenic as they do not drop much dander when they shed. Dander (fine particles of dead skin) is what most people are allergic to when it comes to dogs. Mini Irish Doodles inherit their hypoallergenic nature from the Miniature Poodle. Irish Settlers are not hypoallergenic so one of the reasons why this cross breed was made in the first case was to make a breed that was hypoallergenic but still had characteristics of an Irish Settler.

Mini Irish Doodles that have a higher percentage of Poodle genes such as the F1b Mini Irish Doodle are considered to be more hypoallergenic than the first generation of the breed.

Do Mini Irish Doodles Shed?

Mini Irish Doodles are classified as a non to low shedding breed. They only drop a few hairs here and there and do not go through seasonal shedding like other breeds. This is not surprising considering the Miniature Poodle is a light shedding breed as well.

It is important to realise that there is no such thing as a totally non-shedding dog and that Irish Doodles along with other poodle mixes are the closest to this definition.
