Are Mini Irish Doodles Hypoallergenic?

Yes, Mini Irish Doodles are considered to be hypoallergenic because as light shedders, they do not release much allergy inducing dander (dead skin cells that irritate allergy sufferers) into the environment when they lose their fur. The size of the Irish Doodle, whether it is miniature or standard does not affect how hypoallergenic the dog is. All sizes of Irish Doodle are hypoallergenic.

The reason why the breed was originally made was due to the fact that Irish Settlers are moderate shedders. To reduce the amount of shedding, they introduced Poodle genes, a breed that hardly sheds at all to create a dog with a more hypoallergenic coat.

Mini Irish Doodles that have a higher percentage of Poodle genes such as the F1b Mini Irish Doodle are considered to be more hypoallergenic than the first generation of the breed.

What Size Crate For An Irish Doodle?

An Irish Doodle should use a medium sized dog crate. The best way to measure an Irish Doodle for a crate is to measure the length from their nose to the base of their tail, then add 2 or 3 inches for the crate measurements.

We recommended the Diggs Revol Dog Crate (pictured below) for Irish Doodles as is a highly unique design that has been inspired by baby industry quality standards through it’s incorporation of diamond shaped mesh pattern that prevents injury to paws and jaws. Additionally, it is travel friendly as it is collapsible with a carrying handle and wheels and perfect for puppies as it includes a puppy divider and multiple door options!
