Mini Groodles get to 13 to 20 inches tall (33cm to 50cm) and weigh 15 to 35 pounds (6.8kg to 15.9kg). This is slightly smaller than a standard Groodle that gets to 17 to 20 inches (43cm to 50.8cm) and a weight of 40 to 50 pounds (18.1kg to 22.7kg).

F1b Mini Groodle

A F1b is a cross back generation where a F1 Mini Groodle has been bred with a Toy/Miniature Poodle. F1b Groodles are 75% Poodle and 25% Golden Retriever. The main reason why breeders cross-back to the Poodle is to result in a dog that is less likely to shed. The coat of a F1b Mini Groodle is also curlier than a F1 Mini Groodle.

F2b Mini Groodle

A F2 Mini Groodle is a cross back generation where a F1 Mini Groodle is bred with a F1b Mini Groodle resulting in a dog that is 62.5% Poodle and 37.5% Golden Retriever.

Alternatively, some breeders breed two F1b Mini Groodles together to create a F2b Mini Groodle. This results in a Mini Groodle that is 75% Poodle and 25% Golden Retriever. This type of F2b Mini Groodle has the curliest coat.

Mini Groodles are low to non-shedding depending on the generation of the dog (F1 vs F1b vs F2 etc.). The more Poodle in the Mini Groodle, the less your dog will shed. This means that cross-back Groodles such as F1b and F2b will shed less than a first generation Groodle as the Poodle gene percentage is much higher.

Nevertheless, if your Mini Groodle has more Golden Retriever genes than Poodle, the amount of shedding is still considerably less compared to other breeds.
