An F1 Mini Whoodle is the first generation of the breed created by crossing a purebred Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier with a purebred Miniature Poodle. They are 50% Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and 50% Miniature Poodle.

F1b Mini Whoodle

An F1b Mini Whoodle is the first cross-back generation created by crossing an F1 Mini Whoodle with a purebred Miniature Poodle. They are 25% Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and 75% Miniature Poodle. F1b Mini Whoodle usually have curlier coats than F1 Mini Whoodles and are also more hypoallergenic.

F2 Mini Whoodle

An F2 Mini Whoodle is the second generation of the breed created by breeding a F1 Mini Whoodle with another F1 Mini Whoodle. They are 50% Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and 50% Miniature Poodle.

Mini Whoodle Coat Colors

Cream Mini Whoodle

Cream is the most common Mini Whoodle coat color which they inherit from the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. Often, the cream coat of a Mini Whoodle will lightend with age and can even turn into an apricot color. Cream Mini Whoodles usually have darker colored ears like a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier where the tips are a dark brown or black color. They usually have brown eyes and dark brown or black noses.

Black Mini Whoodles feature a solid black coat that will stay solid black for their wholes lives. Black Mini Whoodles do not go through any fading process. They also feature almost black eyes and jet black noses. Black is not a very popular Mini Whoodle coat color so not many breeders produce it.

Red Mini Whoodle

Red Mini Whoodles have a dark red or chestnut coat. They usually have dark brown eyes and black or dark brown noses. Red Mini Whoodles often feature a small white patch on the top of their muzzle, just above their nose and sometimes also around their mouth. Red Whoodles are known to fade with age and may turn into more of an apricot color as an adult.

Sable Mini Whoodle

Sable Mini Whoodles have bi-colored coats where the hairs are a light brown or cream shade at the root and are dark brown or black at the tip. The sable undertones are most prominent on a Mini Whoodle’s muzzle, eye brows and legs. They may also have white patches on their chest and paws. This coat color is inherited from the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and it is very common for Mini Whoodles.

Blue Merle Mini Whoodle

A Blue Merle Mini Whoodle has a blue, grey, white and tan coat in a distinct mottled pattern. They would have originally had a solid grey coat but the merle gene diluted it into mottled patches. The merle gene also affects eye color and skin pigmentation on the nose and paws. This means that Merle Mini Whoodles often have very light eye colors such as blue and often have pink patches on their nose and paws. Blue Merle Mini Whoodles are very rare.

Mini Whoodles need to be groomed every 8 to 12 weeks. If you prefer that your Mini Whoodle has a shorter coat at all times they need to be groomed every 8 to 10 weeks.
