American Cocker Spaniels have narrower eyes, shorter muzzles and smaller ears. English Cocker Spaniels have wider eyes, longer muzzles and longer ears. Size wise, an English Cocker Spaniel is larger than an American one.

Most Mini Cockapoos are created with American Cocker Spaniels however some breeders choose to use English Cocker Spaniels. This also really depends on geography. For example, most Mini Cockapoos have an American Cocker Spaniel parent in the United States of America while most Mini Cockapoos have an English Cocker Spaniel parent in the United Kingdom.
