The Mini Goldendoodle (AKA Mini Groodle) is a cross breed between a Golden Retriever and a Miniature Poodle. As a cross breed there can be variation in Mini Goldendoodle size and the age at which they are fully grown depending on the size of the respective parents. When Is A Mini Goldendoodle Full Grown?

A Mini Goldendoodle is fully grown between 11 and 13 months of age when they reach their full adult weight. Just before they are 11 months old, Mini Goldendoodles will reach their full height and for the remaining months of growth they will fill out and continue gaining weight. Around 4 months of age Mini Goldendoodle puppies are approximately half their adult weight.

How Big Is A Mini Goldendoodle Full Grown?

A fully grown Mini Goldendoodle is 15 to 17 inches (38.1cm to 43.2cm) tall at the shoulder and weighs between 15 and 35 pounds (6.8kg to 15.9kg). They are the middle Goldendoodle size. The two larger sizes are the Medium and Standard Goldendoodle and the two smaller sizes are the Teacup and Toy Goldendoodle.

  • Teacup Goldendoodles are 8 to 13 inches (20.3cm to 33cm) tall at the shoulder and weigh between 7 to 10 pounds (3.2kg to 4.5kg).
  • Toy Goldendoodles are 10 to 16 inches (25.4cm to 40.6cm) tall at the shoulder and weigh between 10 and 25 pounds (4.5kg to 11.3kg).

Full Grown Mini Goldendoodle Weight

Mini Goldendoodles weigh 15 and 35 pounds (6.8kg to 15.9kg) when fully grown. They are in the mid weigh range for all Goldendoodle sizes.

If you find out the weight of the parents of your Mini Goldendoodle you will get a good idea of how much your puppy will weigh as an adult. As a mixed breed, there can be a lot of variation in Mini Goldendoodle weight so your dog may be slightly heavier or lighter than these ranges. Is My Mini Goldendoodle Overweight?

Your Mini Goldendoodle may be overweight if you have to push through excess fat to feel their ribs and if don’t have a visible waistline. When looking at a Mini Goldendoodle from a birds-eye view they should have a subtle hourglass figure. If they are overweight, their body shape may look very round or like a sausage instead of having a thinner waistline than their ribcage and hips.

If you are worried about your Mini Goldendoodle being overweight, the best thing you can do is go to the vet to get their professional opinion. They may suggest feeding your Mini Goldendoodle a different diet or suggest a more vigorous exercise regime. In the meantime, you can try and get your Mini Goldendoodle back to a healthier weight by going on more walks, encouraging your Mini Goldendoodle to run around more and playing active games like fetch. Also stop feeding your Mini Goldendoodle human food and don’t give them as many treats or snacks.

Is My Mini Goldendoodle Underweight?

Your Mini Goldendoodle may be underweight if you can see or feel the ridges of their ribs. When looking at a Mini Goldendoodle from a birds-eye view they should have a subtle hourglass figure. If the hourglass figure is very prominent or severe, your Mini Goldendoodle may be underweight.

There are a range of reasons why Mini Goldendoodles may become underweight but the main ones are if you are underfeeding or over exercising them. Another common cause is sickness and if this is the case you should definitely go to a vet for a check-up.

Mini Goldendoodle Growth Chart

Birth to 2 Weeks

Between birth and 2 weeks of age, Mini Goldendoodles are deaf and blind. They are unable to look after themselves and are fully dependant on their mothers as the only senses they have are taste and touch. Mini Goldendoodles spend majority of these 2 weeks sleeping and nestling as close to their mother as they can. Their muscles are not developed and they cannot walk.

3 Weeks to 12 Weeks

From 3 weeks to 3 months of age, Mini Goldendoodles start to become more independent. At the beginning of this period they will get their hearing and sense of smell. Their eyes and ears open so they become much more inquisitive about the world. They start to interact with litter mates, bark and walk a little as their muscles start to get stronger.

Mini Goldendoodles start to become more aware of their surroundings and start to interact with others. Weaning begins during this stage so they start eating food other than their mother’s milk. By 8 weeks, they have full use of their senses and usually go to their new home.

4 Months to 6 Months

Teething begins between 4 and 6 months of age. Many Mini Goldendoodles undergo a big growth spurt at this age as they are only eating puppy food now. At this age, your Mini Goldendoodle will be at least half their adult weight.

7 Months to 9 Months

Mini Goldendoodles reach sexual maturity between 7 and 9 months of age. Female Mini Goldendoodles go through their first heat if they are not desexed.

10 Months to 12 Months

Mini Goldendoodles are fully grown or nearly fully grown by 12 months of age. They’ll get their adult coat and you’ll eventually have to swap over to adult food. At this age Mini Goldendoodles are extremely active and also very inquisitive. They love exploring their world and learning new things.
