They originate from a cross between a very small Pomeranian and a very small Husky where the breeder then takes the runt of the litter and continues breeding smaller and smaller sized Pomsky puppies until they consistently get the teacup size. Therefore, Teacup Pomskies are a multigenerational mix breed and you won’t find an F1 (first generation) one. Additionally, since there is such a significant size difference between the Pomeranian and Husky that breeders have to use artificial insemination. Only the Husky can carry the babies as the Pomeranian is too small.

Mini Pomsky

What Is A Mini Pomsky?
A Mini Pomsky is technically a Standard Pomsky that is on the smaller side of their expected weight and height range. They are created by breeding a Husky that is on the smaller side with a Pomeranian on the smaller side. The Husky always has to get pregnant as there is such a large size difference between the two breeds.
Sometimes breeders call Teacup or Toy Pomskies “Mini Pomskies” so beware that Mini Pomskies aren’t always slightly smaller Standard Pomskies.
How Big Does A Mini Pomsky Get?
A Mini Pomsky gets to a height of 10 to 15 inches (25.4cm to 38.1cm) and weighs between 20 and 25 pounds (9.1kg to 11.3kg). Mini Pomskies are on the shorter height range and lighter weight range of a Standard Pomsky so they can technically be classified as a Standard Pomsky as well. Some breeders like to differentiate as a selling point that they breed smaller puppies.

Standard Pomsky

A Standard Pomsky is the normal size of Pomsky. They are created by crossing a standard sized Husky with a Pomeranian. As there is such a large size difference between the Husky and Pomeranian, the Husky must be pregnant with the puppies. That means that Pomskies are always a cross between a male Pomeranian and a female Husky.
How Big Does A Standard Pomsky Get?
A Standard Pomsky gets to a height of 13 to 18 inches (33.0cm to 38.1cm) when fully grown and weighs between 20 and 30 pounds (9.1kg to 11.3kg). They are the largest and most common Pomsky size.
Standard Pomskies usually reach half their adult size between 3.5 and 5 months of age. They are fully grown between 11 and 13 months of age.

A Standard Pomsky has a lifespan of 13 to 15 years. Along with the Miniature Pomsky, they have the longest lifespan of all Pomsky sizes as they do not suffer from any size related health issues.
